Lara Sosa ”of Cadereyta, where the CEO of Petróleos Mexicanos (PEMEX), Octavio Romero Oropeza, reported that the National Refining System Program (SRN) will improve the operating efficiency of the six process plants. refineries and with this, among other advantages, less pollutants will be emitted into the environment.
The head of PEMEX indicated that in the company, its workers and management personnel, "we are committed to maintaining a healthy and responsible relationship with the environment."
He highlighted that the Cadereyta refinery is the only one in the SNR whose total production, both of gasoline and diesel, is ultra-low sulfur, that is, in clean fuels, and provides practically half of ultra-low-sulfur diesel of total production. national.
Regarding the rehabilitation works being carried out in this refinery, Romero Oropeza reported that 26 plants with a delay were detected that require major repairs and by the end of this year 11 plants will be rehabilitated, for which a budget of 4,125 is being exercised millions of pesos. According to the schedule of the National Refining System Program, by the end of 2023 the major repair works in this refinery will be completed.
He specified that with these actions, it is intended that the “Héctor R. Lara Sosa” refinery approaches its current maximum capacity of 180 thousand barrels of process per day. This refinery supplies 64 percent of fuel to the states of Chihuahua, Coahuila, Nuevo León, Durango, Zacatecas, San Luis Potosí and Tamaulipas.
He explained that the budget for the rehabilitation of the National Refining System, which includes the six refineries, amounts to 22.905 million pesos. Of these, 16,124 million are committed to contracts.
The General Director of PEMEX finally asserted that in the face of the economic crisis, the State productive company makes a great effort to pay its suppliers and contractors of the National Refining System, so that from January to today, 10,000 have been paid 541 million.
