TV Azteca uses artificial intelligence to evaluate audience responses

TV Azteca has developed a new platform with a machine-learning audience-prediction company.

On Dec. 28, Mexico’s second-largest mass media company owned by Grupo Salinas announced the launch of Real Unscripted, an audience insights prediction platform. The launch of the new platform was made possible by its strategic partnership with Vault Analytics (Vault AI).

Traditional audience research usually requires a presentation of a script summary or a trailer to an audience and feedback is gathered via focus groups or surveys. 

Vault AI’s approach is “respondent-free” and will not require surveys. For Real Unscripted, TV Azteca will be using Vault AI’s artificial intelligence to evaluate the consumer's answers to its unscripted content. Vault AI will be able to predict audience answers and composition by focusing on character profiles and the main concepts of a show. The platform helps reduce the risk of story leaks by 99%, according to a release.

TV Azteca and Vault AI started their partnership in April 2018 with a goal to “combine technology and content to evolve the company through the radical changes in the global entertainment industry,” according to the release.
