A new program called Mobilization for Employment has been launched to help the Mexican labor market recover from the COVID-19 economic slump.
A total of 22 business organizations and government associations such as the Employers’ Confederation of the Mexican Republic, National Employment Service of the Ministry of Labor and Social Security, American Chamber and the Swiss-Mexican Chamber of Commerce all took part in creating the program, according to a report from Web24News.
“The objective is the job relocation of those affected by the COVID-19 contingency through training and jobs,” Francisco Martínez Domene, director of The Adecco Group Mexico, told Web24. “We believe that it is time to join forces and generate actions that not only allow us to return to our daily tasks, within the new normal but also provide an additional element for the economic reactivation of the country.”
The group proposed sharing vacancies for faster rehiring as well as an online training nonprofit platform.
The Adecco Group wants "to support the reactivation of the economy and formal employment, favoring the reincorporation of the workforce to the new normal in the different economic activities of the country, promoting the training and relocation of workers who have been affected in their employability by the COVID-19 pandemic,” according to its website.
