MedX Health Corp. is launching a skin-assessment program in Mexico.

The company will give offer skin-care scanning and assessments throughout Mexico, Businesswire reported.

"There is a significant opportunity for MedX’s rapid skin assessment technology in Mexico, as skin cancer is a very common type of cancer in Mexico,” Carlos Vizcaino, MedX Mexico’s president and CEO, told Businesswire. “A recent study shows that Mexican melanoma patients experience a lower survival rate than the current worldwide average."

Mexican melanoma patients have a lower survival rate because of late diagnosis and the belief they will not develop melanoma.

"This fact is based on two factors, namely late-stage diagnosis due to the lack of early screening and the ill-informed belief that our community is not as susceptible as others to skin cancer," Vizcaino told Businesswire. "The high prevalence of advanced cases reinforces the importance of local strategies to diagnose melanoma in the early stages, to treat it definitively and to be able to reach many underserved communities."

With the new agreement, MedX Mexico will be reaching out to health care markets in Mexico to widen the accessibility to skin care.

“MedX Mexico has experience in marketing medical devices and health solutions in the Mexican market, as well as a strong connections with hospitals, major pharmacies and medical clinics which will be a great benefit as it enters into this large market, and we are delighted to be partnering with them,” Scott Spearn, president and CEO of MedX, told Businesswire.
