Arca Continental S.A.B. de C.V. issued the following announcement on Feb. 6.
PetStar, the world's largest food grade recycling plant, led by Arca Continental, received the Ibero-American Quality Award that recognizes the excellence of organizations for the quality and innovation of their processes The award, considered the highest worldwide recognition in quality management, was awarded by Spanish authorities in the city of Madrid.
The award is based on the Ibero-American Model of Management Excellence and has as a requirement to access it that Ibero-American organizations have previously obtained high quality recognition in their country of origin. Such is the case of PetStar, which in 2017 received the National Quality Award in Mexico.
The award was presented to Alejandro Molina, technical and supply chain executive director of Arca Continental, as chairman of the board of directors of PetStar, and Jaime Cámara, general director of PetStar.
PetStar is one of the main initiatives of Arca Continental and the Mexican Coca-Cola Industry (IMCC) to boost recycling, and aligns with the global objectives of the Coca-Cola Company to achieve #UnMundoSinResiduos.
