Pemex issued the following announcement on Jan. 17.
One year after the unfortunate events that occurred on January 18, 2019, in Tlahuelilpan, Hidalgo, Petróleos Mexicanos (Pemex) has carried out social support actions for the community, with the aim of strengthening institutional capacities in matters of security and Health of this municipality.
During 2019, through the Community and Environment Support Program (PACMA), Pemex delivered 60 thousand liters of fuel and 120 tons of asphalt to the municipality, as well as a medical emergency ambulance for prehospital care and a pick up patrol , with an investment that amounts to more than 4 million pesos.
In addition to the social investment in 2019, two properties were acquired; the first one, destined for the extension of the municipal pantheon of Tlahuelilpan; and the second, for the construction of a Memorial in an area of 3,500 m2, requested by the relatives of the victims of the accident in the area where the fire occurred. On the other hand, the corresponding steps are taken to acquire two more lands for the expansion of the municipal pantheons of Teltipán de Juárez and Tlaxcoapan.
In coordination with the three orders of government, Petróleos Mexicanos continues to implement preventive actions to monitor pipelines and combat fuel theft in the state of Hidalg o, where in 2019 the largest number of such crimes were registered nationwide and They disabled 4,040 clandestine shots, which represents 31 percent of the entire country.
At the same time, the installation of reinforced concrete has been carried out in the areas of the pipelines that are most affected by clandestine intakes. In 2019, 51.5 kilometers were installed and in 2020, the objective is to place the concrete plate along 170 kilometers.
In the case of the municipality of Tlahuelilpan, the installation of concrete began, whose final objective will be the total coverage of the pipelines that pass through this municipality. The completion of the work is estimated over a period of 45 days.
