Pemex issued the following announcement on Dec. 3.
As part of the Community and Environment Support Program (PACMA), the general director of Petróleos Mexicanos (Pemex), Octavio Romero Oropeza, gave the governor of the state of Hidalgo, Omar Fayad Meneses, support for 12 municipalities of the entity with The purpose of strengthening public health and safety actions, with a total investment of 9.3 million pesos.
The head of the State productive company said that these supports are part of Pemex's firm commitment to the state of Hidalgo for the direct relationship that the 12 beneficiary municipalities have with the oil activity and others, which are included in the General Plan Combat theft of Fuels.
Romero Oropeza, recalled that at the beginning of this administration the theft of fuels was one of the main problems for the Government of Mexico, illegal that the president of Mexico, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, faced decisively. "During the past year the daily average of fuel theft was 56 thousand barrels, this is the equivalent of what is consumed daily in Mexico City and today the daily average is 5 thousand barrels," he reiterated.
It also detailed the main actions that this administration has carried out to achieve a rebound in refining capacity, as well as to stop the fall and increase the production of crude oil and the financial discipline measures that have been put in place to strengthen the productive company of the State.
During his speech, the governor of Hidalgo, Omar Fayad, thanked the support provided by Pemex for the safety and health of the inhabitants of the 12 municipalities of the Tula region, "in economic and social terms, Petróleos Mexicanos is an institution that has symbolized the different transformations of the country throughout its history, until today it contributes directly and indirectly to the development of the families of Hidalgo, specifically in the region of Tula, "he said.
The governor said that the region of Tula, where the Pemex facilities are located, is a priority for the state government, so it will grant more than 100 million pesos to support more than 150 small and medium-sized businesses, which amount to 18 thousand million pesos of new investments in the region representing 50 percent of the state's GDP, and 20 percent of the formal jobs in the entity. In this administration, the Tula region accumulates more than 11 thousand jobs created and the generation of 900 million pesos in exports.
Fayad Meneses stressed the commitment shown and the joint coordination of the company with the government of the state of Hidalgo, "the great challenge is to adopt a responsible and sustainable behavior, because that is the right way to ensure more opportunities, donating resources reinforces the coordinated work of the three levels of government, "he said.
The supports delivered were 16 double cab pick-up patrols (12 four-cylinder and 4 six-cylinder) and a medical emergency ambulance for prehospital care. The municipalities benefiting from the donation are: Ajacuba, Atitalaquia, Atotonilco de Tula, Mineral de la Reforma, Mixquiahuala de Juárez, Pachuca de Soto, San Agustín Tlaxiaca, Tepeji del Río de Ocampo, Tetepango, Tezontepec de Aldama, Tlahuelilpan and Tula de Allende.
It is worth mentioning that in this year Petróleos Mexicanos authorized the donation for Hidalgo of asphalt and fuel for a total of 69.2 million pesos; of which 50.5 million pesos were distributed to the State Government through 2 thousand tons of asphalt, 640 thousand liters of gasoline and 640 thousand liters of diesel. Likewise, a total of 18.7 million pesos were delivered to the municipalities, representing 360 tons of asphalt, 540 thousand liters of gasoline and 200 thousand liters of diesel.
In addition to what was delivered during this year, Petróleos Mexicanos manages the acquisition of the property called "La Calavera" for the new municipal pantheon of Tlahuelilpan.
With these actions, Pemex, as a lever for national development, reiterates its commitment and social responsibility in the areas where it carries out its operations.
