Pemex issued the following announcement on March 7.
The Director General of Petróleos Mexicanos and the Vice Governor of the Japanese Bank of International Cooperation met yesterday at the Pemex Executive Tower
Both parties reiterated their commitment to continue working to maintain the good relationship between both institutions.
Yesterday, the General Director of Petróleos Mexicanos (Pemex), Octavio Romero Oropeza, and the Deputy Governor of the Japanese Bank of International Cooperation (JBIC, for its acronym in English), Nobumitsu Hayashi, signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the objective of exchange experiences and promote strategic areas of opportunity that contribute to development in the energy sector.
The signing of this memorandum strengthens the relationship between Pemex and the financial institution and gives the company the possibility to access new financial opportunities with JBIC in the future.
It should be noted that the relationship with the Japanese Bank began in 1991 when Pemex was granted a line of credit to promote a refining project on safety and clean fuels. Since then, JBIC has granted the company several loans to finance several priority projects.
