CEMEX: CEMEX Supplies Products and Services for Energy Equipment Facilities in France

Cemex issued the following announcement on Nov. 15.

CEMEX, S.A.B. de C.V. (“CEMEX”) (NYSE: CX) announced today that it participated in the construction of the main plant of Danish firm LM Wind Power, dedicated to produce the longest wind turbine blades in the world. CEMEX supplied materials and provided tailored logistics operations for this project featuring cutting-edge technology to reduce energy generation costs and supply renewable energy to wind farms in France and across Europe.

LM Wind Power’s main plant expands over 11.5-hectare, equivalent to almost two times the area of the Stade de France, the largest stadium in France and one of the largest sports facilities in Europe. Located on relatively harsh terrain, the site required a special CEMEX concrete-mix for its foundation, which was supplied through 800 mixer trucks, as well as CEMEX’s self-compacting concrete for the rising of the over 20-meter-tall walls of the production building.

“We are very proud to participate in LM Wind Power’s main plant construction, an exceptional project with an important role in sustainable development,” said Franck Amourette, Cluster Director Basse-Normandie for CEMEX in France. “With a considerable extension and featuring the latest technology, this project allowed us to provide all our suite of services: from high-quality products to tailored logistics assessment.”
