Grupo Bimbo issued the following announcement on July 9.
Grupo Bimbo, through its Compliance Department, has organized the Compliance Champions Training and Certification Week forum in order to train employees on the legislative aspects of Integrity issues, as well as to review international best practices in this area.
This forum was attended by more than 30 participants, including Grupo Bimbo‘s Champions of Compliance, members of the Global Audit Department, and several external exhibitors from Mexico and other countries, such as the United States and Argentina, who gave various talks on the topics of anti-corruption, integrity, prevention of money laundering, data privacy, conflicts of interest, and economic competition.
Luis Miguel Briola, Global Legal and Regulatory Compliance Director at Grupo Bimbo, commented: “The belief in integrity generates confidence in the day to day and thus forms a solid and sustainable company over time. Integrity is an important ingredient of any productive process”.
The forum, in addition to highlighting the views of trainers from companies such as Trace International, SAI, EY, and Lexis Nexis, allowed us to build a general overview about what happens within other organizations in terms of their Corporate Integrity.
Participants were awarded a certification issued by the Compliance Department, after attending and passing an examination on the topics covered.
With these actions, Grupo Bimbo reaffirms its commitment to generate a culture of corporate integrity, which is one of the various actions that have made the company part of the World's Most Ethical Companies list compiled by The Ethisphere Institute.
