Pemex issued the following announcement on June 25.

Petróleos Mexicanos and the Union of Petroleum Workers of the Mexican Republic (STPRM) agreed, within the framework of the salary revision 2018, increases in salary, as well as quotas and benefits of the Collective Labor Contract.

The agreement was signed by the general director of Pemex, Carlos Alberto Treviño Medina, and the general secretary of the General Executive Committee of the STPRM, Senator Carlos Antonio Romero Deschamps, and will be effective from August 1, 2018 and until July 31 of 2019, with an increase of 3.42 percent to the ordinary salary.

Aware of the economic context that the company is going through, both parties reached an agreement that reflects the just demands of the workers and allows Pemex to face future challenges.

In his message, both Senator Romero Deschamps and CEO Carlos Treviño, highlighted the excellent relationship between the company and the union, thanks to which they will continue to build the agreements needed by the company for its enlargement.

This event was attended by the Secretary of Labor and Social Welfare, Roberto Campa Cifrián, as well as the Undersecretary of Hydrocarbons, Aldo Flores Quiroga.
