Pemex issued the following announcement on Nov. 8.

Before the wave of rumors and apocryphal communiqués, notes and comments on social networks about an attack on the internal computer systems of Petróleos Mexicanos, the following is reported:

Petróleos Mexicanos operates normally. The operation of the operation and production systems of the company are not compromised, in addition to being armored.

Pemex’s internal network, like all major national and international government and financial companies and institutions, frequently receives threats and cyber attacks that have not prospered today.

Yesterday, Sunday, November 10, the State productive company received attempts at cyber attacks that were timely neutralized, affecting the operation of less than 5% of personal computer equipment.

Notwithstanding the foregoing, Pemex reiterates that production, supply and fuel inventories are guaranteed.

Pemex reinforces its computer security and invites the oil community and society to avoid rumors that damage the company’s image.
