Cemex issued the following announcement on June 27.

CEMEX, S.A.B. de C.V. (“CEMEX”) (NYSE: CX) announced today that it supplied the first 63,310 cubic meters of concrete for the construction of Torre Mítikah, expected to become the tallest tower in Mexico City.

Located in the south of Mexico City, Torre Mítikah is part of Ciudad Viva, the Mítikah complex, which integrates several mixed-use buildings, including residential and office areas, medical offices, and a shopping mall. The inauguration of the Mítikah complex, designed by Pelli Clarke Pelli Architects, is expected to take place in 2021.

Currently under construction, Torre Mítikah will reach a height of 267.3 meters, and is expected to become the tallest tower in Mexico City. To date, CEMEX has supplied several exclusive products for the job, including high-resistance and high-fluidity concretes, to provide its clients with the highest-quality infrastructure.

Given the project’s complexity, several CEMEX teams have collaborated to deliver superior customer service, providing technical advice, programming the concrete supply’s exact timing and quantity, and even planning the best routes and delivery hours for an area that’s difficult to circulate and access.

“We work closely alongside our customer for this monumental project. Thanks to our experience participating in the construction of some of the tallest buildings in Mexico City, we have been able to foresee the challenges to come and offer the best solutions to overcome them,” said Luis Guillermo Franco, Vice President of Sales to Builders, CEMEX Mexico.

CEMEX has contributed to the construction of the tallest buildings in Mexico, including Monterrey’s Torre KOI, 279 meters high and 67 floors, and Mexico City’s Torre Reforma, 246 meters high and 57 floors. Through these impressive projects, CEMEX has developed considerable experience, innovation capabilities, and technology for the benefit of future buildings that are transforming Mexico’s landscape.

CEMEX’s cement and ready-mix technology centers are part of the R&D collaboration network, headed by CEMEX Research Group AG in Switzerland.
